class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u4e00\u3001\u6c83\u5c14\u739b\u901a\u8fc7\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\uff0c\u63d0\u5347\u4e86\u987e\u5ba2\u5546\u54c1\u641c\u7d22\u7684\u80fd\u529b\u3002<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5728\u8fd9\u9879\u6280\u672f\u9996\u6b21\u4eae\u76f8\u5927\u7ea6\u4e00\u4e2a\u6708\u540e\uff0c\u6c83\u5c14\u739b\u9996\u5e2d\u6267\u884c\u5b98\u9053\u683c\u00b7\u9ea6\u514b\u7c73\u4f26 Jon Alferness \u5728\u63a5\u53d7 Retail Dive \u91c7\u8bbf\u65f6\u8868\u793a\uff0c\u751f\u6210\u5f0f AI Jon \u540d\u96f6\u552e\u884c\u4e1a\u51b3\u7b56\u8005\u7684\u8c03\u7814\u4e2d\u53cd\u6620\uff0c\u53ea\u6709 4% \u7684\u96f6\u552e\u9886\u5bfc\u8005\u8868\u793a AI \u4e0d\u662f\u4e00\u4e2a\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u8003\u8651\u56e0\u7d20\u3002\u800c\u53e6\u4e00\u4e2a\u8c03\u7814\u673a\u6784\u5728\u6700\u8fd1\u7684\u53e6\u4e00\u9879\u8c03\u67e5\u53d1\u73b0\uff0c58% \u7684\u53d7\u8bbf\u8005\u8868\u793a\u751f\u6210\u5f0f AI \u8bf4\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u7136\u800c\uff0cTaulli \u8868\u793a\uff0c\u751f\u6210\u5f0f AI \u5728\u96f6\u552e\u4e1a\u4e2d\u7684\u5e94\u7528\u4ecd\u5904\u4e8e\u65e9\u671f\u9636\u6bb5\uff0c\u5b83\u53ef\u80fd\u8fd8\u9700\u8981\u51e0\u5e74\u65f6\u95f4\u624d\u80fd\u6210\u4e3a\u8be5\u884c\u4e1a\u6574\u4f53\u5168\u6e20\u9053\u6218\u7565\u7684\u6838\u5fc3\u90e8\u5206\u3002\u539f\u56e0\u4e4b\u4e00\u662f\uff1a\u57fa\u4e8e\u516c\u53f8\u4e13\u6709\u6570\u636e\u96c6\u90e8\u7f72\u751f\u6210\u5f0f McMillon said during a February earnings call that \u201chelp me buy a Valentine\u2019s Day gift\u201d was one of the most popular searches that month. \u201cAnd rather than searching separately for things like chocolates, a car, jewelry, flowers, the search returns a list of results that are relevant and curated,\u201d McMillon said.The retailer began deploying generative artificial intelligence late last year to answer customers\u2019 mission-based searches and empower frontline employees with information that enables them to serve customers better and in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generative AI can make connections and serve results to customers with context and personalization, Jon Alferness, chief product officer for Walmart U.S., told Retail Dive in an interview. The technology can also help customers identify what they want to buy and discover new products. Alferness said the company\u2019s data backs up why advancing the implementation of generative AI-powered search is important.<br>Customers regularly ask mission-based shopping questions, Alferness said. Before integrating AI into search, \u201cthe answers that we were giving our customers were OK but not great,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Empowering associates with AI<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alferness said Walmart has also deployed generative AI to empower its associates with more information that can help them better serve customers. The technology serves as a cheat sheet for customer interactions by bringing all the tools an employee might use under a single umbrella to offer contextualized answers to customers\u2019 product questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, Alferness said, a customer might come to a store and ask an associate for help searching the aisles for a specific toy tied to a TV show or a movie but they can\u2019t remember anything \u2013 the show, the movie or the character\u2019s name. But AI can help find what a customer wants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe don&#8217;t want our customers to have to think about the complexity behind the scenes,\u201d said Alferness, whose past experiences include multiple roles at Google. \u201cI think the magic of all of this is done really well when it is natural, fluid, frictionless.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Associates can also use AI to get an answer if a product isn\u2019t on the shelf. Within moments, they can find out if the supplier is out of inventory, if the product is on its way to a store on a truck, or even the approximate time it\u2019ll get moved from the truck to the backroom and then a shelf on the sales floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connecting all those dots requires the power of AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walmart said its generative AI technology analyzes customer intent based on query, session and engagement. It then uses that information to create a holistic product offering in categories to serve results that cover a customer\u2019s needs without overlaps or gaps.<br>\u201cThe technology goes beyond the typical word matching and can detect much more complex relationships and connections,\u201d Tom Taulli, the author of \u201cGenerative AI: How ChatGPT and Other AI Tools Will Revolutionize Business,\u201d told Retail Dive in an email. \u201cThis is mapped to natural language prompts. In other words, this is a much better search experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Walmart\u2019s deployment of the technology could be a template for the future of retail, Taulli said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGenerative AI is a transformative technology,\u201d Taulli said. \u201cMillions of people have seen the power ofChatGPT \u2013 and this has raised the bar for AI applications,\u201d Taulli said. \u201cFor companies to remain relevant, they will need to adopt these powerful technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Generative AI in retail still early stage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just 4% of retail leaders said AI isn\u2019t an important consideration, according to a recent survey of 1,100 retail industry decision makers by Algolia and Coleman Parkes Research. Another recent survey by Adobe found that 58% of respondents said generative AI improved their online shopping experience. Half of those surveyed said they\u2019d use the technology to help them buy clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn many respects, Gen AI is already an essential part of advanced retail strategies,\u201d Bernard Marr, a generative AI expert and author, told Retail Dive in an email. \u201cIt integrates various data points \u2014 from browsing habits to purchase history and even real-time behavior \u2014 to deliver a cohesive and customized shopping journey. As retail continues to evolve, the adoption of such technologies will become not just advantageous but necessary for staying competitive and meeting the increasingly sophisticated expectations of consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taulli said retailers and customers alike benefit from generative AI\u2019s rising implementation.<br>\u201cOne natural language prompt can instruct the generative AI to create a plan that is personalized and based on certain constraints, like costs,\u201d Taulli said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Taulli said generative AI\u2019s use in retail is still in the early stages and it will likely be a few years before it\u2019s a core part of the industry\u2019s overall omnichannel strategy.
