Until then, he will remain CFO until the company finds a successor, and then he will support the transition in an assistant capacity for the remainder of the period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">As part of the transition, Biggs will also continue to serve on the board of Wal-Mart&#8217;s fintech startups and Ribbit Capital, the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Biggs&#8217;s successor has a big job to fill. As CFO, Biggs was responsible for accounting and control, corporate strategy and development, business planning and analysis, global sourcing, internal audit, finance, tax and investor relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Walmart said it was considering internal and external candidates for the position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Biggs has been the retailer&#8217;s executive vice president and CFO since late December 2015, but has held a variety of positions since joining the company in 2000. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Wal-Mart International, Wal-Mart United States and Sam&#8217;s Club. He also served as the company&#8217;s Senior Vice President of International Strategy, mergers and Acquisitions, and corporate finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8220;His contributions are key to the important steps we are taking in our comprehensive journey to transform the company,&#8221; Walmart&#8217;s CEO said.
