\u6307\u51fa\uff0c\u56fd\u5bb6\u7535\u7f51\u4e0d\u4ec5\u56e0\u4e3a\u5176\u5177\u6709\u5b89\u5168\u3001\u4e13\u6709\u6027\u8d28\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u662f\u5fae\u8f6f Azure \u4e91\u8ba1\u7b97\u7684\u5927\u5ba2\u6237\uff0c\u800c\u4e14\u56fd\u5bb6\u7535\u7f51\u8fd8\u6b63\u5728\u4f7f\u7528\u5927\u91cf\u7684\u524d\u6cbf\u5de5\u5177\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u6570\u636e\u5de5\u5177\u5982 Snowflake\u3001Azure \u548c Matallion ETL \uff0c\u7528\u4e8e\u6570\u636e\u8d28\u91cf\u7684 Informatica \uff0c\u7528\u4e8e\u4e3b\u6570\u636e\u7ba1\u7406\u7684 Reltio \u548c\u7528\u4e8e RPA \u7684 Blue Prism \u7b49\u7b49\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u56fd\u5bb6\u7535\u7f51\u5927\u7ea6\u5b8c\u6210\u4e86\u4e09\u5206\u4e4b\u4e00\u7684\u4e91\u8ba1\u7b97\u8fc7\u6e21\uff0c\u5e76\u4e13\u6ce8\u4e8e\u5c06\u5ba2\u6237\u6570\u636e\u548c\u52b3\u52a8\u529b\u6570\u636e\u7387\u5148\u8fc1\u79fb\u5230\u4e91\u7aef\uff0c\u4ee5\u83b7\u53d6\u6700\u5927\u7684\u5546\u4e1a\u4ef7\u503c\u3002Karaboutis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p \u8f6c\u578b\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u8f6c\u578b\u6d89\u53ca\u5230\u5c06\u7535\u7f51\u6570\u5b57\u5316\u5e76\u5c06\u5176\u4e0e\u5404\u79cd\u7269\u8054\u7f51 (IoT) \u4f20\u611f\u5668\u548c\u8bbe\u5907\u3001\u592a\u9633\u80fd\u3001\u98ce\u529b\u6da1\u8f6e\u673a\u3001\u6c34\u529b\u521b\u65b0\uff0c\u751a\u81f3\u7535\u6c60\u6280\u672f\u7b49\u5927\u91cf\u65b0\u5174\u53ef\u518d\u751f\u80fd\u6e90\u8fde\u63a5\u8d77\u6765\u3002\u56fd\u5bb6\u7535\u7f51\u4e0d\u4ec5\u4ec5\u627f\u8bfa\u5728 That&#8217;s the question some are asking of Adriana &#8220;Andi&#8221; Karaboutis. A former CIO at Dell who was appointed National Grid&#8217;s global chief information and digital officer in 2017. She is the former CIO of Dell, who left the computer giant before being appointed State Grid&#8217;s global chief information and digital officer in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Her answer was that she wanted to change the world.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8220;Securing and transforming the country&#8217;s vital infrastructure is one of the most stressful, but also challenging, jobs,&#8221; Karaboutis said. She is excited to be part of two major global initiatives at the same time. To secure national infrastructure from cyber attacks and to slow global warming by transforming the global energy grid in an age of technological advances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">As global Chief Information officer. Karaboutis is also the chief architect of the $20 billion British multinational&#8217;s digital transformation across the United Kingdom, New York and New England. She is currently working with both governments to strengthen cyber security across NATO&#8217;s multiple power grids. Karaboutis will be speaking at the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium next week. She thinks being on the &#8220;front line&#8221; of what she calls the global energy transition may keep her tossing. And turning for several nights, but the &#8220;rewards&#8221; are ineffable. &#8220;You can imagine what the Infrastructure Act and Green [initiatives] mean to my budget,&#8221; she said. But State Grid is also using a number of cutting-edge tools. Including data tools such as Snowflake, Azure and Matallion ETL. Informatica for data quality, Reltio for master data management and Blue Prism for RPA, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">State Grid is about a third of the way through the cloud computing transition and is focused on moving customer data and workforce data to the cloud first to maximize business value. Karaboutis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In the next step, State Grid will move data to the cloud from its more than 7,000 field workers serving consumers and businesses, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">She points out that State Grid is also consolidating major data centres in order to move more data to the cloud. &#8220;By getting rid of a single internal environment, these capabilities allow us to reduce business risk and provide the resilience and scale of the cloud. We are very mature in terms of data architecture and what we want, and we are getting closer.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Karaboutis also points out that not all data will be migrated, only data that makes sense to run in the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8220;I call it cloud density,&#8221; Karaboutis added. &#8220;All of our investments are about value generation. In many cases, this is not pure ROI and cost savings, but rather the shared cost of eliminating hidden costs and managing technical inputs, such as unnecessary upgrades. It&#8217;s about enhancing national security. It&#8217;s about capacity management and resilience. These are some of the considerations we use to measure the value of moving to the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Staff the transition to product-based IT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><br>Talent, data and cloud operating models are central components of State Grid&#8217;s efforts to go digital, which Karaboutis equates to building a &#8220;smart connected utility&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The first is to build and attract talent to help State Grid&#8217;s IT transformation. These transformations involve digitizing the grid and connecting it to a variety of Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and devices, solar power, wind turbines, hydro innovations, and even battery technology, among a host of emerging renewable energy sources. Not only is National Grid committed to going fossil fuel-free by 2050, it also has an ongoing geothermal project in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Karaboutis will rely on 1,400 certified IT employees and 2,500 contractors to achieve this goal. Her budget increased significantly and, as part of transitioning IT operations to an agile and product-based model. She hired product managers. Karaboutis also hired UX designers, data scientists, enterprise architects, and RPA talent, but she still couldn&#8217;t quickly ramp up &#8220;talent density.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">To address this, Karaboutis is using Pluralsight and LinkedIn to upgrade skills, and continues to outsource application development and maintenance to companies like Wipro, IBM and Atos. State Grid is also working with traditional recruitment agencies to build &#8220;talent density&#8221; and with agile innovation consultants such as Thinkworks, Giant Machines and Palantir, Karaboutis said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Optimize with machine learning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">State Grid, meanwhile, is busy building networks to link up with solar, wind and battery storage. It is also exploring extracting natural, renewable gases from waste and has bought wind farms. But it has been paying close attention and using advanced technology to optimize its core power business<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">As part of that, State Grid is applying Microsoft AI machine learning (ML) algorithms to optimize some of the Copperleaf project&#8217;s &#8220;vegetation management&#8221; pruning plans to prevent fires and other disasters. It also combines geospatial technology with artificial intelligence to make the &#8220;right decisions&#8221; about maintaining submarine cables and make routing and investment decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">National Grid is also exploring ways to deploy ML algorithms to better manage the risk of blackouts that can still occur during power surges, such as during the World Cup or royal wedding. Karaboutis says this investment in &#8220;power balancing&#8221; may in the future rely on battery technology, as it can be stored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">&#8220;We talked about data being the asset of the company, right?
