Apple has confirmed the news. Meanwhile, Bloomberg reports that Smalley&#8217;s current role at Apple will likely be similar to his tenure at Astrazeneca, and that he will not be involved in Apple&#8217;s healthcare division for now. Astrazeneca has so far declined to comment on the former executive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Before taking on the role of CIO at pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca. Smally was CIO and senior vice president at Flextronics from December 2016, and was previously CIO and vice president of avionics systems at Honeywell. Smalley was previously Director and CIO of GE Power Controls in Barcelona, Spain. And served on the advisory boards of HotLink, SnapLogic, Egnyte, Trifacta, and InformationWeek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">A graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor&#8217;s degree in computer science and an MBA in Marketing and General Management from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia\u3002 Smalley is also considered an early adopter of cloud computing.
