Transactions completed solely by business users may not be technically sound. Transactions done independently by the purchasing staff may reduce costs, but will disappoint users. Deals done by IT departments alone bring leading edge technology, but often come at a high cost and may even be legally risky. That&#8217;s why IT leaders should build an advisory team, or at least get appropriate feedback, when deciding on key transaction points.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Peterson recommends building a team with not only IT representatives, but also user, operations, finance, procurement, and legal representatives. &#8220;Get expert advice early to avoid costly pitfalls,&#8221; Peterson says.
