欢迎大家来参加百度历史上第一次，也是中国工业第一次大规模的AI开发者大会，我们大家一起聚集一堂，充满着期待，因为我们社会正在进入全新的规模巨大的技术革命时代。AI时代已经到来、AI带来的机会还不均等，我们今天大会的目标是我们一起通过合作、让每一个人都能更好的参与这次振奋人心的一个革命创新的时代。

AI像历史机械化时代、电器化时代、信息化时代一样，它对社会的影响深度广度都是空前的。它会将人类历史推入一个崭新的新时代，就像前三次工业革命一样。那AI为什么有这么大的影响力，就是在于AI的阵地，AI的核心是智能化，智能是获取知识、应用知识，达到目的的努力，AI技术使我们能自动获取知识、应用知识、达到目标。

AI技术跟其他技术相比，有一个非常特殊的地方，数据起到一个重要的特殊的作用。在AI时代只做软件，只做硬件是不够的。我可以给你一万个工程师、你可以写一大堆代码，但是你是做不出来的系统，它能听懂每一句话、看懂每一张图，必须是系统加数据、通过学习、通过训练才能获得这样的能力。

数据不是无中生有的，任何数据都是源于一个数据产生体系，数据是观察世界的桥梁，是知识的载体。有了数据、有了适当的算法、加上软件、硬件，我们可以自动的获取知识。所以这次人工智能革命、它的本质是一场知识的革命，是快速的自动的来获取知识。

培根说过知识的历史是无穷的，知识就是历史，有了知识我们可以做自动化、有了知识我们可以解决任何重要的问题。人类的历史就是一个认识世界、感受世界、追求理想的历史，人工智能（AI）将大大提供我们认识世界、改造世界能力。AI是人类历史上一个重大的里程碑。AI也代表新一代的计算平台，计算平台在历史经过好几代的演变、有前台、后台。前台是由人机交互能力所驱动，但是后台是由计算资源的规模而驱动。

AI时代新的计算平台，又往前迈了一大步，因为在AI计算平台，它的后台将是智能云，不仅仅能提供大规模的计算资源，也可以提供越来越多的知识，特别是各种不同行业的知识、医疗、教育、金融、出行等等。随着海量数据的聚集，智能云将提供越来越多的知识。它的前台也将不再是通用的计算设备，AI的前台是传感器、芯片加智能软件，可以切入任何一个设备、事物、器件，使每一个空调、每一个电视、每一个家庭、每一个车都可以听、都可以说，都可以看。都可以跟智能云联合在一起，获得越来越多的知识、能力。

他们越来越听懂每一句话，越来越看懂每一张图。AI时代的计算平台，将是社会巨大的推动力与互联网时代相比，他们能把我们现在的社会能连接人与信息的社会，提高到一个崭新的唤醒万物的世界。所以AI对整个社会、行业驱动将带来巨大的机会，对每一个行业AI都可以做转型、做大幅度的提升。AI可以建立一系列新的行业。AI的商业化途径、行业化是数据加算法、加软件、硬件，达到用户价值、产生商业价值，这样更多的数据、更大的价值进入创新循环，创新速度越来越快，AI一定势不可当。

中国具有充分的能力，充分的拥抱AI，用AI的技术革命提升我们国力，现在全世界有43%人工智能论文是华人撰写的，中国有足够大的技术累计，互联网公司对AI的核心技术做了早期的投入、长期的研发。我们有充分的资金、我们有世界上最大的市场、最活跃的用户群，中国的网民已经达到7.3亿，我们有良好的政策环境，AI在两会上已经列入政府工作报告，中国有结构化的优势、因为中国可以获得更多更有价值的数据来更快的推动人工智能成长，中国一定有机会、有能力成为一个创新大国，我们可以再一次领先世界。

AI是百度的机会，百度是中国公司当中最有能力、最合适来做AI的。因为搜索就是AI的早期属性，我们有17年的累计，我们有早期的战略投入，我们有强大的基础人才，数据上的优势。在技术百度全球领先的大规模的网络，在人才上我们有超过2千多个AI研发人员。我们有一流AI研究所，在数据上百度有百亿级的定位数据，万亿级的搜索数据，百度将中国成为创新大国过程中，我们将积极参与、积极贡献。百度有能力、有决心成为中国一流和世界一流的AI标杆公司。

Now 43% of the artificial intelligence papers in the world are written by Chinese people. We have sufficient capital, the largest market in the world and the most active user group. China’s Internet users have reached 730 million. We have a good policy environment. China certainly has the opportunity and ability to become an innovation powerhouse, and we can once again lead the world.
